BRILLIANCE OF THE SEAS Is Back

BRILLIANCE OF THE SEAS (Royal Caribbean) is back from Navantia shipyard in Cadiz Spain.

According to a release: "The 2,100 guest ship will now offer vacationers signature Royal Caribbean amenities first introduced aboard Oasis-class vessels including 5 new dining concepts, an exhilarating aerial entertainment experience and technology advancements allowing guests to stay more connected than ever before. BRILLIANCE OF THE SEAS will start offering the new extras this summer as she sails from Harwich, England, offering Northern European schedules that visit some of the Baltics’s most sought after destinations such as Copenhagen, Denmark; Stockholm, Sweden and Helsinki, Finland."

"There are more dining options, BRILLIANCE OF THE SEAS now offers customers a new culinary experiences from family-style festivity at the Italian trattoria, Giovanni’s Table, to the intimate and exclusive multi-course Chef’s Table. Guests can expand their palettes at a multitude of other dining venues including Royal Caribbean’s signature Izumi Asian Cuisine, Park Café and Rita’s Cantina."

"In addition, the five-story Centrum – which is the focal point of the ship – has been transformed into a spectacular new space featuring the Centrum experience, which includes the addition of the 60’s-inspired R Bar as well as a multitude of entertainment experiences including enriching daytime activities, dazzling nighttime entertainment and a new high-flying entertainment experience where aerialists glide through the vertical space of the atrium."

Fire on ferry off Istanbul coast

A lot of passengers had to be evacuated from a tourist ferry off the coast of Istanbul because of a fire that started on the vessel. There is no information for injured passengers.
There was a smoke coming from the back side of the ferry. 2 other ferries close to the vessel in smoke went to its position to help the passengers. Future investigation will reveal the reason for the incident.

All passengers were evacuated from the vessel travelling from Istanbul to the famous Princes' Islands in the Sea of Marmara.

Death of an 18-year-old onboard of Carnival Cruise Ship

An 18-year-old man has died while at sea on the board of Carnival Miracle cruise ship on 18th of February, 2013. Multiple reports claim the cause of man's death was alcohol poisoning.

From Carnival confirmed the death of the man. "We may confirm that an 18-year-old male passenger passed away in his state room at nearly 3 am during an 8-day cruise on the board of Carnival Miracle," told Vance Gulliksen, spokesman of Carnival. "The cause of death hasn't been determined… We extend our deepest sympathies to the family of the young man and loved ones during this very difficult time."

The Troy Record identifies the young man as Seth Younes, a senior at Saratoga Springs High School.

“We can now confirm that, there isn't any indication that the young man Seth Younes was served any alcohol by the shipboard staff,” commented on the speculation, Gulliksen.

Carnival Cruise Lines contacted the FBI as a standard practice in such occasions, added Gulliksen. Representatives of FBI had to board the cruise liner Carnival Miracle to conduct an investigation. Irregularities were not reported at first.

The investigation of the man's death, is going to consist of reviewing any evidence of Seth Younes death.

Carnival cancels 12 Carnival Triumph's voyages

Carnival Cruise Lines has decided to cancel planned voyages aboard the Carnival Triumph, the ship has some mechanical problems. The company informed that the cruise ship was being towed to a port in Mobile, Alabama, with all passengers onboard.

The ship will stay for a short time in Alabama, Carnival explained. The passengers has to decide to take a bus to Galveston, Texas, or Houston or to spend a night in a hotel in New Orleans where Carnival decided to book 1,5000 rooms. All coasts for transportation are covered by the company.

The city Mobile has enough hotel rooms for the passengers and 2 airports near the cruise terminal. Carnival crew will stay in Mobile.
When Carnival Triumph dock will be idle through April.

Royal Princess is about to install the SISCO's A-PASS® 6 Wireless Mobile Life Safety & Security Access Control System.

The cruise ship Royal Princess will join the new generation of the Princess fleet this year June. The system is built from different software modules mobile wireless hand held readers that handle critical tasks for the safety of the passengers and crew members.

The news A-PASS® 6 Mobile Guard Station module will help passengers to board and de-board faster and secure. The software module helps shipboard management to account everyone on board(with individual photo verification).
The system works with Coast Guard, IMO and SOLAS regulations.
