The Coast Guard medevaced a crewmember from the crude oil tanker Paramount Hanover approximately 92 miles offshore of Galveston, Texas, Saturday.

Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston watchstanders received a request from the captain of the crude oil tanker Paramount Hanover for the medevac of a 20-year-old male crewmember who was reportedly suffering from extreme abdominal pain. Watchstanders consulted with the duty flight surgeon who recommended the medevac.

A Coast Guard Air Station Houston MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew and an Air Station Corpus Christi HC-144 Ocean Sentry aircrew were launched to the crude oil tanker. 

The Air Station Houston helicopter crew hoisted the patient and transferred him to the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston where he was reported to be in stable condition.
