Congratulations to Ecobunker Shipping Co., Ltd, a joint venture including SEA-LNG members YKIP, Uyeno Marine Service, and Sumitomo Corporation on the launch of Japan’s first LNG Bunker vessel.

First Bunkering Vessel For Tokyo Bay

This is another significant step forward in establishing LNG bunkering infrastructure in Japan.

The expansion of LNG bunkering facilities globally affirms the case for LNG as a marine fuel, and one that is quickly gaining popularity within key maritime nations.

The livestream of the two-hour launch ceremony in Fukuoka shipyard is scheduled for 0810 JST 4 Aug20, (0010 BST, 0110 CET 4 Aug 20 and 1910 EST 3 Aug 20) can be be viewed here.

The ceremony will be recorded, and you can watch this on the same link. The highlight of the ceremony is the blessing puja held in Shintoism tradition.

As is tradition, the name of the vessel will not be revealed before the ceremony.
