The 4,900-GT Highspeed 5 has been caught in fire near Piraeus. The incident occurred on March 23 at about 1:30 pm local time and resulted in one victim. The 85-meter catamaran passenger ferry was being docked at a pier in Keratsini for repairs.
In a short time, the fire was extinguished by the Hellenic Coast Guard vessels Armadores II and Alexander 3 with the assistance of workers. The body of the victim, the chief electrician of the vessel, was found on the deck of Highsped 5.
