American Roll-on Roll-off Carrier (ARC) loaded 1,162 pieces of equipment in support of the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade (CAB) onto M/V Endurance at the Port of Rotterdam for delivery to Jacksonville, Florida. The operation took place over two days and included 35 helicopters. The M/V Endurance carried the deployment of the unit from the U.S. to Europe, and will now complete the deployment to home station for the 101st CAB. The 101st CAB was established in July 1968 as an aviation group and stands as the most decorated aviation unit in the United States Army.

Avram Fox, Terminal Director at the North Sea Detachment of the Military Surface Deployment & Distribution Command (SDDC) commented, “ARC has been a strong commercial partner of the U.S. Military in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve. The M/V Endurance is an exceptionally capable vessel well suited to the transportation of large numbers of heavy vehicles, helicopters, and hazardous cargo in support of regularly scheduled brigade rotations.”

The M/V Endurance is one of the most capable commercial vessels in the global fleet and one of five ARC ships capable of carrying aviation units and V-22 Ospreys in military sealift configuration. With a 320 metric ton stern ramp, a main deck height of 20.5 feet (6.25 meters), and 262,252 square feet of militarily useful capacity, the M/V Endurance is the perfect ship to handle brigade sized deployments.
