MT SALTSTRAUM Delivered; MT SYDSTRAUM on Sea Trial

This red beauty will leave the yard on Saturday, June 6, and head for her first cargo loading a few days later before she starts sailing towards European waters.

On the same day as departure date for M/T SALTSTRAUM,  June 6, it is scheduled for Sea Trial of vessel number four, M/T SYDSTARUM.

This series of vessels has been challenging with high demands from the owner by creating advanced vessels with low energy consumption for a generation of environmentally friendly vessels.

This is exactly what drives us at FKAB Marine Design, high demands and an as environmental friendly result as possible.

It has been created by a great cooperation, with solution focussed persons involved, between FKAB Marine Design, the Owner Utkilen AS and the shipyard China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Yangzhou) Dingheng Co. Ltd.

It has been a great journey and we are proud and grateful to be onboard this project.

The vessel are 10 500 DWT stainless steel tankers and of a very environmentally friendly design with focus on low fuel consumption, reduced NOx emissions and to prepare them for possible future upgrades of fuel with the installed LNG ready engine.

Shore power is installed with capacity enough to handle loading and unloading.

The high loading and unloading pump capacity in combination with great tank cleaning efficiency will reduce time in ports.

The vessel is prepared for a battery pack installation to be used either as UPS or for Peak shaving.

The vessel is designed by FKAB Marine Design in close and very good cooperation with both the owner Utkilen A/S and the Shipyard China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Yangzhou) Dingheng Co. Ltd. (Former Avic Dingheng Shipbuilding Co. Ltd.)

The Utkilen T32 design is an ice class chemical tanker with cargo tanks in duplex stainless steel.
