It seems like a large cargo vessel that ran aground near Ardnamurchan Point in the West Highlands is going to remain stuck there for quite some time, as commented by the coastguard.

None of the crew members sustained any injuries. Officials have concluded that the container vessel, believed to be transporting paper, is not in any immediate danger.

The ship didn’t refloat at high tide, and now expectations are for tugs to be deployed to try and free it.

The Tobermory RNLI Lifeboat has been deployed to the scene of the accident.

When it ran aground the Lysblink Seaways was bound from Belfast to Skogn in Norway.

The 9 crew members have remained on board, as they wait for the arrival of the tugs.

As of the moment there have been no reported signs of pollution.

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) has appointed the emergency towing ship Heracles to the scene from the Orkney area, while Lysblink Seaways's owners have engaged the services of a salvage company along with those of a commercial tug.
