Wartsila is going to launch a new Platform Supply Vessel design in accordance with new rules and regulations affecting the PSV market. The official start of the improved design will be given at the Nor-Shipping exhibition, which takes place in Oslo from 2nd to 5th of June.
According to Wartsila, the design builds upon the company's extensive and successful track record within the PSV segment by emphasizing on reducing environmental risk, increased cost efficiency and innovation.
In comparison with the existing PSV design, the new one lowers significantly the fuel consumption. The energy system is with batteries and the arrangement of the accommodation area promotes cost efficient construction. The new design comes with optimizations in the hull lines, superstructure, engine room and deck cargo area.
In line with the upcoming regulations for up to 1200 m3 of type II chemicals, Wartsila's new PSV features improved bridge visibility and reduced vibration and noise.
