A video footage released by Japanese media shows the incident site at Kawasaki port, Japan where firefighters were working to extinguish a fire in the cargo area of a Cambodian-flagged general cargo ship on Thursday (Nov 12) .

According to reports, the fire started at about 2:30 a.m. local time onboard the 2,300 DWT MV Hong Yan while berthed in Kawasaki City, Japan. The vessel reportedly loaded with about 1,500 tons of scrap metal bound for China.

The video from scene shows the vessel tied up and listing, with thick smoke emanating from the cargo hold as firefighters spray water onto the ship. All crewmembers escaped the vessel unharmed.
