Tenders Invited for EW Baltica-3 Study
Polish wind farm developer PGE Energia Odnawialna S.A. has invited tenders for a study on the EW Baltica-3 offshore wind farm project.
The project is located in the Polish Exclusive Economic Zone of the Baltic Sea, some 33km of the coast at the border of Slupsk Bank.
The aim of the study is to conduct a two-year campaign of measurement of wind conditions in the Baltic Sea and the acquisition of wind data, collected using a special floating platform equipped with a LiDAR device.
The project includes a study of the vertical profile of wind speed and direction, a study of waves and sea currents, measurement of air and water temperature, barometric pressure and relative humidity, as well as preparation of reports summarizing the collected results.
The value of the contract is EUR 414,000, and the time-frame for the completion and submission of the study is 30 months.
Interested parties have until 27 April to submit their bids. The language to be used is Polish.
Back in September 2015, PGE Energia Odnawialna kicked o! an environmental survey process for its Baltica 2 and 3 projects.
The company had earlier received connection conditions and signed an interconnection agreement for 1,045.5MW.

Jan De Nul, Prysmian Chosen for Tahkoluoto OWF Work
Wind power producer Suomen Hyötytuuli Oy has chosen Jan De Nul Group as the main contractor of marine construction for the new Tahkoluoto offshore wind farm in Pori, Finland. The cable manufacturer Prysmian Finland will supply the undersea cable. Construction of the wind farm will begin in April.
Jan De Nul will be responsible for dredging, seabed construction work, and the installation of foundations and wind turbines. The work will take place over the next two summer seasons.
“Competence, modern technology and references were the key criteria in the selection of the main contractor for marine construction,” said Arto Huhmarkangas, Project Director, Tahkoluoto Offshore at Suomen Hyötytuuli Oy.
Approximately 14 kilometres of a 30-kilovolt undersea cable will be installed on the seabed. The cable is manufactured in Finland by Prysmian Finland. The Tahkoluoto wind farm will have ten 4 MW turbines that will be taken in use during the autumn of 2017.
