The highest shipment for Samskip Breakbulk Services ever has been started. Departing from the Tuzla Shipyard in Istanbul, Turkey, the units weighing over 405 tons are making their way towards Turkmenbashi, Turkmenistan.
The voyage will take approximately 25 days and the roll-on / roll-off loading/discharging of both oversized superstructure units will be possible by SPMT (Self-Propelled Modular Transporter).
"The most challenging part will be the passage of the Volgo-Don-Channel due to the convoy`s air draft of 15,1 m, whereas the max air draft is 14,10 only. With special permits and measures taken, we make every possible shipment happen!"
