The Interspill 2015 conference that was held in Amsterdam from the 24th to the 26th of March focused on all major current issues and obstacles regarding oil spill response procedures. IMO was the center piece of several discussions related to the necessary preparations and adequate response measures for oil spill cases and spillages’ negative impact regarding shipping activities.
IMO also took the time to share some of its positive experience from working alongside the industry towards improving oil spillage preparedness on an international basis.
The film below, called Oil Spill Response, involves the IMO and the oil industry body in the face of IPIECA. It centers around their joint-effort of trying to help create the necessary resources and provide important know-how in particular areas that are not able to fully handle an oil spillage situation and its aftermath.
