Denmark and Brazil has entered into a new cooperation which aims to strengthen the maritime relations between the two countries.
The agreement was inked in Brazil during a shipping policy seminar. Signature for Denmark put the Director General Andreas Nordseth of the DMA (Danish Maritime Authority) and for Brazil – the Director of ANTAQ (Brazilian National Agency for Waterway Transportation), Mario Povia.
The new agreement comes as a sequel to the marine cooperation between Denmark and DPC (Brazilian Admiralty), which dates from June 2013, and aims to strengthen the collaboration in the bilateral maritime relations by setting a framework for experts' interchange, according to DMA.
As part of the new agreement, Danmark -a training ship, is to visit Rio de Janeiro in relation with the Olympics next year, while in connection with The Tall Ship Races this August a Brazil's training ship is due to visit Aalborg.
