On 23 August 2016, the COSCO Shipyard in Guangdong, China delivered the platform supply vessel VOS Passion to Vroon Offshore, Ulstein said in a press release on Friday.

After successfully completing her ISM and ISPS audits, she departed from the yard on 27 August on her maiden voyage. The vessel is the fourth of six PSVs of the PX121 ship design by Ulstein.

VOS Passion is a PX121-type platform supply vessel, and the fourth of six such vessels being built at the Cosco Shipyard for the Dutch offshore vessel owner Vroon Offshore. All vessels are featuring the Ulstein patented X-BOW design to provide high comfort for crew and smoother vessel movements in harsh conditions.

Once delivered, all PX121s will operate under management of Vroon Offshore Services.

The PSV complies with ABS class requirements for dynamic-positioning system Class II (DPS-2) and reduced noise and vibration to satisfy a Comfort-Class notation. With a length of 83.4 metres and a beam of 18 metres, the vessel provides 850 square metres deck space and a load capacity of 4,200 tonnes (dwt).

The naming ceremony for the PSV was held on 18 July, lady sponsor Mrs Mireille Vroon.
