Hapag-Lloyd has decided to add a direct call in Puerto Quetzal to its Mediterranean Pacific Service (MPS), the company said in its press release.
New direct transit times from Puerto Quetzal will be:
- Los Angeles 6 days
- Oakland 9 days
- Seattle 12 days
- Vancouver 14 days
This new port call may also be used to connect European exports with the West Coast of Guatemala.

First vessel calling at Puerto Quetzal will be:
- MV Seaspan Chiwan voyage 16W15
- ETS Cagliari 16.04.2017
- ETA Puerto Quetzal 12.05.2017
- ETS Puerto Quetzal 13.05.2017
The new port rotation reads as follows:
Valencia - Cagliari - Livorno - Genoa - Fos - Barcelona - Valencia - Tangier - Cartagena - Puerto Quetzal - Manzanillo, Mexico - Los Angeles - Oakland - Seattle - Vancouver - Oakland - Los Angeles - Manzanillo, Mexico - Manzanillo, Panama - Cartagena - Caucedo - Lisbon - Tangier - Valencia.
