While approaching the locks of the Kiel Canal in Kiel-Holtenau the container ship Tina ran aground on Feb 28, 2016, around 4.30 a.m. local time.

At 7.05 the ship was refloated by the tugs Kiel and Stein after pumping of ballast water.
Three hours after the accident the ship entered the locks again and continued its voyage from Ahus in Sweden to Bremerhaven at 4 p.m. after surveys, as it had suffered only superficial damage.
