Navantia has announced that four cruise ships are currently being serviced and repaired at its shipyard in Cadiz.

TUI Cruises’ Mein Schiff 3 is currently having a new stern transverse propeller installed in order to improve manoeuvrability. Splendour of the Seas, from Royal Caribbean International, is in dock until May for a complete remodelling of its interior and exterior.

Work is also currently taking place on The World cruise ship, managed by Wilhelmsen. It has 12 decks of suites, swimming pools, shops and restaurants which are currently undergoing maintenance. And Cruise American Associates has left World Odyssey for repair with Navantia, which will house the vessel for over a month.

Navantia said that the current record number of cruise repairs deals confirmed its leading position in the modernisation and repair of big cruise ships. The yard owner also noted that the strong bookings would boost employment rates in the city of Cadiz, Spain.
