Monaco-based LNG shipper GasLog laid the keel for its new liquefied natural gas carrier (LNG) being built at the South Korean Samsung Heavy Industries shipyard.

The vessel will have the capacity to transport 180,000 cubic meters of liquefied natural gas, featuring XDF propulsion, the company said in a brief statement through its social media channels.

The vessel, hull No. 2212 will feature a 0.07 percent boil-off rate and be equipped with reliquefaction capabilities, the company said.

It is scheduled for delivery in July 2019, the company said.

Currently, GasLog operates 24 LNG carriers including 12 owned vessels, nine owned by its New York-listed spinoff GasLog LNG Partners and three vessels owned by the Hague-based LNG giant Shell.
