Eight foreign-flagged ships were under detention in UK ports during July 2018, after failing Port State Control (PSC) inspection, according to data provided by the UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA).
Namely, during July, there were three new detentions in a UK port, while five vessels remained under detention from previous months. A total of four vessels remained under detention at the end of July.
New detentions in July
One of the new detentions involved the Icelandic-flagged 'Poseidon', found with 10 deficiencies. This vessel was still detained on 31st July 2018.
The second involved the Antigua & Barbuda-flagged 'Anmiro' found with 16 deficiencies, 1 of which were ground for detention. This vessel was released on 20th July 2018.
The third is about the also Antigua & Barbuda-flagged 'Johanna Helena', found with 16 deficiencies. Three of them was ground for detention. This vessel was released on 7th July 2018.
Detentions carried over from previous months
The Liberian-flagged 'Douwent' was released on 4th July 2018. The ship had 6 deficiencies, with one ground for detention.
The Malta-flagged 'Pallas Glory' was released on 6th July 2018. It got detained due to 3 detainable deficiencies.
The Russian-flagged 'Tecoil Polaris' was still detained on on 31st July 2018, due to 17 deficiencies, including 17 grounds for detention.
Finally, the unregistered 'Cien Porciento' was still detained on 30th June 2018, due to 27 deficiencies, including eight grounds for detention.
