Based on the present level of Gatun Lake in the rainfall projections for the upcoming weeks, the third draft restriction announced by the Panama Canal Authority (ACP) in Advisory to Shipping A-23-2016 and scheduled to become effective May 25, 2016, is postponed until June 6, 2016. Therefore, the maximum authorized transit draft will remain at 11.74m (38.5 feet) TFW until June 5, 2016.
Effective June 6, 2016, the maximum authorized transit draft will be 11.59m (38.0 feet) Tropical Fresh Water (TFW)
The Gatun Lake level will continue to be monitored for further adjustments to draft restrictions, according to the ACP.
