A newbuild emergency response rescue vessel (ERRV) has been delivered to offshore vessel operator Sentinel Marine by China’s Cosco Shipyard, a 51% owned subsidiary of Cosco Corporation, in Singapore.

Cosco said on Tuesday that Cosco Dalian Shipyard delivered the vessel to the buyer and that the delivery documents were signed by Cosco Dalian and the buyer recently.

The vessel measures 62 meters in length, 15.50 meters in breadth and 6 meters in depth.

Cosco said that the newbuild ERRV was named the Portland Sentinel. This is the first vessel in a series of four such multi-role ERRV’s that features ‘state of the art’ rescue equipment including a daughter craft.

Sentinel recently said the ERRV was delivered on July 15 and that it would sail away from the shipyard soon and mobilize to the North Sea. The vessel is due to start a long-term charter with a ‘major’ oil and gas company.

According to AIS data, the vessel is currently located in the East China Sea.
