Salvage Team Refloated the grounded MV Dani from Farne Islands (UK)

By Accidents

The general cargo ship MV DANIO that ran aground on the Farne Islands off the Northumberland coast nearly 2 weeks ago, has been successfully refloated.
Maritime authorities are still making checks but so far there're no reports of any pollution.
At 04:30 on Saturday, March 16, 2013 the cargo ship MV Danio warned the Humber Coastguard that their ship had run aground on the Farne Islands. Seahouses RNLI all-weather lifeboat tried to tow the grounded ship off the rocks at high water but to no avail. Attempts to refloat the cargo ship were hampered by bad weather conditions, but at nearly 03:00 yesterday (Thursday, Marc 28, 2013) the cargo ship was successfully refloated.
The Secretary of State’s Representative for Maritime Salvage and Intervention, Hugh Shaw stated: “I'm delighted that the salvage professionals have successfully refloated the cargo vessel without any damage to the environment. I'd like to take this chance to offer my thanks to all concerned with the operation. In particular I'd also like to thank Titan Salvage for their professionalism in carrying out the operation in the extremely rough weather conditions experienced since the grounding.
