Drydocks World, the leading marine, onshore & offshore service provider to the oil, gas and renewable energy sectors has been awarded the Safety Award at the prestigious Lloyd’s List Global Awards 2017 in London, in recognition of the company’s effective role in ensuring safety over the years.
Drydocks World initiated the yard’s most powerful initiative “ZERO HARM” five years ago to start a journey towards an ambition that creates a workplace where all personnel are safe. To set up an incident-free environment, with pro-active practices and stringent monitoring, the “ZERO HARM” road map till 2020 focuses on benchmarking the organization as an Industry Leader in terms of HSE systems and reinforcing a Behavioral Safety Culture in the workforce.
Five years after the launch of the initiative and the adoption of best practices specifically designed to the requirements of the industry, and with the development of a systematic goal-oriented strategy to reduce and minimize the complications associated with health, safety and environmental problems, Drydocks World has achieved excellent results in safety, quality and environment.
In 2016, Drydocks World achieved 26.5 Million Man-hours worked with 3.92 Injury Rate Frequency per Million Man hours (48% reduction in injuries from year 2015), conducted 11,192 safety training sessions and received 88% satisfaction (cumulative average) from customers for Safety Aspects on projects.
