Diana Containerships, which is an international shipping company, specialized in owning and operating container vessels, today stated that it signed yesterday, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, a Memorandum of Agreement for selling the 1989-built container ship Maersk Madrid for demolition, for a sale price of almost $8,8 million before commissions.
The container ship is going to be renamed to “Madrid”. The delivery of Maersk Madrid to the buyers is planned for mid-May 2013.
Upon termination of the sale of the container vessel Maersk Madrid, the fleet of Diana Containerships will consist of 10 Panamax container ships.
