Freighter Ship Collided with the stern of the M/T Neste off Bay of Bothnia

According to the statement released from Neste Oil statement detailing the collision, the Varnebank, a Dutch freighter ship, struck the stern of a Neste Oil tanker ship, the Neste that was carrying a part cargo of diesel fuel, south of Kemi in the Bay of Bothnia on 16th of April, 2013.
Both ships were following a route indicated by the icebreaker Odin when the Neste tanker ship became stuck in the ice. Later, the Varnebank freighter vessel hit the stern of the Neste tanker. The accident was of a minor nature and didn't injure anyone or result in any damage to the environment. Crew of the Urho vessel, another icebreaker, checked both ships for any damages and gave them permission to continue to the next port, where a more detailed examination is going to be carried out.
