Stolt Valor tanker`s Explosion

Stolt Tankers’ 25,269-dwt Stolt Valor (built 2004) has suffered an explosion whilst transiting the Persian Gulf.
There is 1 missing crewmember. The other twenty-four crewmembers are safe and have been transferred to a nearby naval vessel. Stolt is working with the authorities on site in order to determine the whereabouts of the missing seafarer and the condition of the ship.
There are no statements at this time of any potential piracy activity in the case. There was no more comments from Stolt. The Stolt Valor spent 2 months anchored off Somalia after being kidnapped by pirates in September 2008 before later being released.
