Pirates Attempt to Hijack a Greek Oil Tanker for Second Time in a Week

By Piracy

Greek crude oil tanker Cap Theodora has been attacked for 2nd time in less than 1 week in Gulf of Guinea, likely by the same mob. On 22nd of April, 2013 at about 6:55 LT ship that was under way was approached by a speed vessel with some 5-6 pirates in it.
Pirates tried to board oil tanker vessel, but like the 1st attack, failed, thwarted by water protection and maneuvering. A fishing trawler was spotted nearby, obviously a mother vessel, with red hull and white superstructure. The scheme of attack and other things strongly presume tanker was attacked by the same mob. Cap Theodora continued its sailing, no injured reported.
