The biggest international shipping company MAERSK and multi-carrier sea freight network INTTRA have signed an agreement, which allows Maersk's clients and its units Seago Line, Safmarine and MCC to plug into E-Commerce platform.
The 40-carrier member INTTRA platform is offering ocean schedules, booking, shipping instructions, bill of lading, tracking and tracing, electronic invoicing and reports.
INTTRA and MAERSK Line have long-shared a policy of cutting expenditures and improving efficiency through E-commerce, informs the United Kingdom’s Transport Intelligence. “As both the market and clients have changed their demands, Maersk Line and INTTRA have evolved E-commerce from an independent IT activity to a vital business solution for more profitable commercial growth,” according to the report.
“We've seen 1st-hand the benefits of integrating technology and business solutions to drive success in the ocean shipping industry. By leveraging the E-business solutions of INTTRA, we are now able to continue to secure more value to our merchant clients and position ourselves for long-term growth,” commented the sales chief of Maersk Line, Jesper Thomsen.
INTTRA is the largest multi-carrier network for the ocean shipping in the world. INTTRA allows shippers to schedule, book, manage, and analyse ocean freight shipments with 40 leading carriers and NVOCCs. Over 525 000 container orders a week are initiated on the INTTRA platform.
