USCG investigating the collision of barge and tanker in Houston Ship Channel

USCG responded to an accident in the Houston Ship Channel where a tug pushing barges collided collided with a tanker on Sunday.
There is no information for any pollution or injury from either ship. The unloaded 800-foot tanker ship, Minerva Maya, is reporting damage to the port bow and the 5 barges being pushed by the tug vessel, M.L. Crochet, sustained some damages. All ships involved in the collision are currently secured and in stable condition.
USCG Marine Safety Unit Texas City watchstanders were emerged of the accident at 9 am. and responded the distress signal.
A team of accident responders, marine inspectors, port state control examiners and marine casualty investigator professionals from the marine safety unit are going to each ship in order to conduct a preliminary investigation and mitigate any potential risk to environment or the mariners aboard the ships.
The cause of this accident is under investigation.
