The third and final Heritage Class shuttle tanker has officially joined the Teekay fleet
Two years and nine months after the contract signing, the last Heritage Class newbuilding shuttle tanker Dorset Spirit is ready to sail to her home port of St. John’s, Newfoundland and join her sister vessels, the Beothuk Spirit and Norse Spirit.
These vessels are purpose-built to serve in the harsh environment on oilfields offshore East Coast of Canada where Teekay is the sole provider of shuttle tanker services to a group of nine oil companies.
The Heritage Class project has been completed without any lost time incidents equating to an impressive total of approximately 2.6 million man hours.
