Ship captain freed in Sulu after a ransom payment

The skipper of a fishing ship who was taken hostage by armed pirates on May 21 has been freed.
Lucio Gonzales was freed in Sulu on Tuesday, his son announced. The family of the kidnapped captain of the fishing vessel paid a ransom and convinced the pirates to release him.
The exact amount of the payment is now announced.

At first place, the pirates wanted P15 million ransom from GMA Fishing Company where Mr. Gonzales is working, but its family negotiated with the kidnappers smaller amount of money.
The captain is not injured and was treated well.
