Shell International Trading and Shipping Company Ltd (STASCo) has signed a contract with BMT which will see the shipping giant purchase its own in-house licence of BMT’s industry-leading navigation simulator, REMBRANDT.
Following several years of using REMBRANDT as a project engineering support tool, STASCo has purchased an advanced desktop version of REMBRANDT with consoles and will use the simulator to support a range of on-going and future projects involving navigation and STS operations. The current training facility will be expanded upon when STASCo relocate back to its international headquarters in London next year.
Jim Brown, Marine Facilities Manager at STASCo comments: “Having used BMT’s services for many years, we recognize the value in having access to the REMBRANDT simulator software in house, to assist in feasibility studies at the early project phases and to support operational decision making and learning opportunities.”
Phil Thompson, Managing Director at BMT comments: “STASCo is justifiably seen as one of the most progressive ship operators globally with one of the world’s largest fleets of owned and chartered vessels. We see this partnership with STASCo as a positive affirmation in REMBRANDT, reinforcing the confidence STASCo has placed in the simulator and its capabilities.”
