The Casualty Investigation ClassNK Team established in response to the June 17, 2013 casualty involving broken in 2 parts container ship MOL Comfort in the Indian Ocean continues to work in close contact with the vessel's owner Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI), and government officials to determine the cause of casualty.
As has been informed by the company of MOL, the fore section of the container ship MOL Comfort that was expected to secure investigators with valuable information on the cause of the casualty, sank on 11th of July 2013.
The fore section of the container ship MOL Comfort had been expected to provide valuable information on the cause of the accident.
ClassNK Casualty Investigation Team is going to expedite the investigation into the cause of the accident, which lead to split off 2, and expects to consolidate its preliminary findings by early September 2013.
