United States Coast Guard and local harbormaster crew members rescued 4 adults and 11 kids when their ship started sinking Sunday near Minot’s Ledge.
A distress call from a 30-foot pleasure craft at 01:40 pm. brought crew members from Point Allerton in Hull and the Scituate Coast Guard station, along with harbormasters from Scituate and Cohasset.
All rescued fifteen people were taken off the pleasure craft. According to the initial report there were no injuries.
A commercial salvage company was contacted to refloat and tow the sunken pleasure craft.
The USCG reported the vessel had lifejackets for everyone on board.
