The Largest Liftboat in the World

New liftboat has been added to Montco Offshore`s fleet which they claim is the largest liftboat in the world.
The ship, built by Gulf Island Fabrication and its marine-construction subsidiary in Houma, is going to be used to decommission rigs and platforms.
The chief technology officer of Montco, Joe Orgeron, said the new vessel is the 7th in the company’s fleet.
Typical liftboats measure about 130ft long with a breadth of 80ft wide, with legs that measure up to 250ft and Montco’s new ship, Liftboat Robert, is 290ft in length with a breadth of 135ft, with 335ft legs.
