Norwegian shipowner Simon Møkster has been awarded a new contract by compatriot oil major Equinor for one of its platform supply vessels (PSVs).
Simon Møkster said last week that it had entered into an eight-month contract plus options with Equinor for the Stril Pioner PSV.
The company added that the new contract would start in the direct continuation of the present contract, which is set to expire in mid-March.
The previous six-month contract was awarded in August 2019 which started in mid-September of the same year. Prior to that, Simon Møkster won a four-month contract for the vessel in April 2019.
Stril Pioner is a large, LNG-powered PSV which previously has had nearly 14 years of service for Equinor. The vessel is of a VS-4403(LNG) design. It is 95 meters long and 20,4m wide with deadweight (DWT) of more than 6000t.
