Ship MV Leila released after ransom

The cargo vessel MV Leila, captured by Somali pirates 50 miles off the coast of Oman on February 17, has been set free (April 12) after successful ransom negotiations and is told that the ship is heading towards a port with al l 24-man crew.
Information of an international media and international counter piracy missions told that the ransom payment was paid by the ship's owners, Dubai-based New Port Cargo and Shipping. MV Leila (flag - Panama) and crew was in captivity more than fifty days.
Carrier masters have been warned of an existing Pirate Action Group (PAG) sailing in the waters off Oman, suspicious activity of Somali pirates is reported in the region.
