In September 2011, a Chinese luxury boat sank immediately after launching. The expensive boat SS Jiugang, worth US $2.7 million, capsized as soon as entered the water.
The luxury boat became submerged in the Yellow River. Some days later the SS Jiugang was pulled ashore. No one was injured during the incident.
The cause of the failure was improper handling from the builders. Most of the people made a mockery of the incident while others did not approve the high costs of the boat and whether the impoverished western province really needed a luxury vessel.
