Frigate Reina Sofia (Spain) saves 4 kidnapped seafarers

In the Arabian Sea ESPS Reina Sofia 4 attacked sailors were saved from a vessel and 16 pirates were detained in attempt of hijacking.
Yemeni registered vessel and its crew have been hostages since the end of March.
An information from the (SDM) Spanish Defence Ministry announcing that they discovered light arms, grenades and ammunition on board.
The Spanish Foreign Ministry told the rescue operation was a hard blow to the mafias against piracy who hide on the Somalia coast although they said that new kidnappings are feared shortly on one of the merchant ships which cross the area.
Spanish frigate ESPS Reina Sofia was one of the last warships that has joined EUNAVFOR units fighting piracy in Somalia at the start of this month.
