All her sister’s vessels are fitted with energy-saving devices like Mewis ducts together with very efficient engines that are tuned for the operational profile of the trade. Furthermore, the highest grade of anti-fouling paint is applied to avoid hull growth over the next 5 years.
These measures are put in place to lower the emission and save fuel. They were also fitted with a Scrubber during New Building stage which reduces emissions considerably; not only Sulphur to comply with the IMO 2020 Sulphur cap, but also particulate matter and black soot.
The vessel is named after Moldoveanu Peak in the Făgăraş Mountains of the Transylvanian Alps (Southern Carpathians) of Romania. At an elevation of 2,544 metres, it is the highest peak in Romania.
