Japanese ship Trans Future 2 collides with Royal Brunei Navy vessels

A collision between the Japanese ship Trans Future 2 and Royal Brunei Navy vessels was reported. The Japanese vessel was sailing toward Muara Port when the accident with the Royal Brunei Navy vessels occurred. Trans Future 2 is a Ro-Ro ship owned by a Japanese firm, but registered in Panama. The vessel was reported to have lost manoeuvrability in the Muara Channel. In the moment of the collision the Trans Future 2 was transporting imported vehicles.

The Japanese vessel collided with 2 naval ships berthed at the Navy Jetty. One of the Royal Brunei Navy vessels was damaged on the left side. Fortunately, no one was injured in the ship collision. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the crash. Marine Department warned all members of the shipping community, captain of vessels and boat owners to be always ready for the unexpected and to keep their vessels in seaworthy condition while sailing in Brunei waters.
