Regal Princess completes sea trials

According to CruiseNewser, the newest and most innovative cruise ship from Princess Cruses fleet has completed her sea trials. They were held in the period April 16 - April 21 in the Adriatic sea. The cruise ship was put through a series of maneuvers testing her navigational, propulsion and steering equipment. The five-day tests were a major milestone in the preparation of her debut. Currently, Regal Princess is at the Fincantieri shipyard (Monfalcone, Italy) for the latest finishing in her interior and exterior. 

Regal Princess was laid down in August 2012 and was launched on March 26, 2013. She is expected to be delivered on May 15 in a special ceremony in Trieste (Italy). Her debut is scheduled for May 20 with 7-day voyage in the Mediterranean. Regal Princess will depart Venice cruise port,  she will make calls in Corfu, Mykonos and Istanbul, ending her inaugural voyage in Piraeus cruise port.  

Regal Princess (IMO number 9584724 and MMSI 247306400) is a Royal-class cruise ship and is a sister ship of Royal Princess (8 months older). Her gross tonnage will be 141,000 tons with capacity for 3,600 passengers. The crew on board will be of 1,346 members. She will have four home ports – Venice, Barcelona, Athens and Fort Lauderdale. 

The new features on board Regal Princess will include the SeaWalk, a cantilevered, glass-enclosed walkway over the sea. She will have private outdoor cabanas, water and light show at her top deck, an outdoor batting cage for baseball, expanded Piazza and the largest ever Princess Cruises Movies Under the Stars.
