Mount Bunkering (a wholly-owned subsidiary of the ASP Ships Group) has announced the arrival of the bunker tanker MT KORIMAKO in Tauranga.

New bunker tanker for Tauranga, New Zealand

The KORIMAKO will support the bunkering operations of Mobil Oil New Zealand Limited (Mobil) in Tauranga and other ports if required. She is a modern double hull bunkering tanker able to lift 1,400 tonnes of cargo in two grades.

Mobil have commented that this vessel will deliver noticeable improvements to the Port of Tauranga’s productivity by reducing waiting times for refuelling.

The ASP Ships Group (ASP) is a global marine services provider with a focus on Australia, New Zealand and Asia Pacific. ASP is involved in the bunkering industry through ownership of the bunker trading business Universal Bunkering as well as a long history of managing bunker barges.

ASP also owns the New Zealand company Silver Fern Shipping which operates two Eco MR tankers for Coastal Oil Logistics Ltd. These vessels distribute petroleum products from the NZ Refinery at Marsden Point around the New Zealand coast.
