Kuwait Oil Tanker Company has taken delivery of the giant crude oil tanker “Al-Siddeeq” from China’s shipbuilding company Bohai — signaling the first such cooperation between the country and Beijing.
By adding Al-Siddeeq, the company’s fleet grew to 32 tankers of various sizes and purposes, KOTC CEO Abdulnasser Al-Fulaij said, affirming keenness on meeting the market’s demand for crude oil and derivatives.
The new tanker is 333 meters long and 60 meters wide, with a cargo capacity of nearly 323 metric tons of crude — equivalent to 2.25 million barrels. Its cargo can be unloaded in less than 24 hours. Fulaij noted that it is friendly to the environment with equipment for treating diverse types of gases and other pollutants.
