After receiving two orders in May, Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding Heavy Industry obtained two orders for 210,000DWT bulk carriers from Chinese Maritime Transport.
Previously, two 210,000DWT bulk carriers had been signed and entered into force between BSIC and CMT in May this year. The re-signing of the 210,000DWT bulk carrier project fully reflects the shipowner's further recognition and trust in BSIC.
According to the announcement issued by CMT on the same day, the latest two ships, each costing US $63 million, will be delivered in the third quarter of 2024.
The 210,000DWT bulk carrier ordered by CMT is the main ship type built by BSIC, with a length of 300 meters, a width of 50 meters, a depth of 25.2 meters, a structural draft of 18.5 meters and a speed of 14 knots.
It meets the requirements of Tier III emission standard of IMO and EEDI Phase III. It has the characteristics of large tank capacity and low fuel consumption, and the economic performance of the ship is outstanding.
