Video: Crude Carrier collides with a fishing boat off Noirmoutier

Front Njord, a Frontline's tanker, has collided with Moorea, a French fishing vessel. The accident happened on Sunday morning 17 nautical miles west of island Noirmoutier in the Bay of Biscay. According to preliminary investigation, the collision was caused by a human error.

F/V Moorea was damaged above the waterline (a large hole and hull damage) but it managed to reach Croisic port (north of St Nazaire) under its own power. One, of 5, crew member has been injured and has been taken to a local hospital by air. Fort Njord did not suffer any damage, all its crew members were reported to be in a good health condition. Currently the tanker is docked at Saint Nazaire and is detained for further investigations.

Front Njord (IMO number 9408205 and MMSI 477831600) is managed by Frontline Management As (Norway). The vessel was built in 2010 by Jiangsu Rongsheng Heavy Industries (RSHI Rugao shipyard, China). The deadweight of the vessel is 156,760 DWT. Last received position of Front Njord.
