MMA Offshore welcomed Company’s first Taiwanese vessel to its fleet this week, following the reflagging of MMA’ AHTS vessel, the MMA Crystal.

MMA Crystal Reflagged To Support Taiwan Offshore Wind

As a significant step forward in MMA growth strategy to support the offshore renewable energy market in Taiwan, MMA has completed the reflagging process of the MMA Crystal. This is another milestone in the development of Company’s capability and assets in Taiwan whilst simultaneously building a localised supply chain to support the offshore wind farm market.

The process was carried out following a substantial conversion program conducted on the vessel in early 2022, which added a suite of new subsea support services to the MMA Crystal including ROV, survey and subsea deployment / lifting capabilities.

As the multipurpose subsea support vessel of choice for the offshore wind market in Taiwan, the MMA Crystal will shortly begin operations to install a floating LiDAR mooring in order to collect environmental data for wind farm developments. This will then be followed by a number of geophysical, geotechnical and ROV work scopes in the region.

“With the sustainable development of marine resources at the core of our purpose, we look forward to the MMA Crystal continuing to support the Taiwanese offshore wind market as we continue to grow our capabilities in the region.”
