Sparks of Weldings has led to Explosion on the board of MSC ship

Belonged to MSC Shipping Company of mediterranean 4,651-TEU MSC Idil has experienced an explosion on its board which has damaged the hull in the fuel and cargo places, causing the vessel to list after taking water.
No damages were stated to the ship’s 25-man as a result of the accident, that took place 60 nautical miles north of San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The Containerisation International of London has stated the explosion that has been caused by welding work. The statement also says the crew members were controlling the ship’s stability by using onboard pumps to handle flooding.
The US Coast Guard has stated as a conclusion that there is no immediate threat to the vessel, that carries fuel oil and diesel when the explosion has occurred.
