P&O Aurora enters dry dock on November 29 in Hamburg. The refurbishment will last until December 18 and is planned to be a massive investment of £26 million.
The 76,132-tonne Aurora is the first in P&O fleet to boast a new livery design. Aurora's last make-over was in 2009. Both Arcadia and Ventura underwent multi-million refits last year. Aurora is next in line, and Azura is planned for 2015.
Some of the alterations include: New livery design (contemporary version of the Union Flag, new blue funnels with rising sun designs). The library will be replaced by Sindhu restaurant; Café Bordeaux will be replaced by Glass House restaurant. The buffet restaurant, Sidewalk Café and Reef children’s clubs, as well as Oasis Spa, Casino and Champions, will be completely refurbished. All cabins will boast new flat screen TVs and soft furnishings.
The winter refurb is scheduled ahead of P&O Aurora Christmas and New Years cruise departing December 21 from Southampton to the Canary Islands and before her South America and Pacific Adventure world cruise starting on January 8, 2015.
