G6 Central China service suspended

By Vessels

The G6 Alliance members have announced that their CC2 (Central China) service will be temporary suspended. The last sailing for the service between Asia and the U.S. West Coast will be the OOCL Italy (IMO number 9367205 and MMSI 566748000) voyage. She will depart from Shanghai on 31st October.

The suspension comes in response to seasonal changes in market demand and will stay until further notice. The Alliance will cover all ports called by CC2 with other G6 services. There will be weekly sailings between Asia and U.S. West Coast which will cover all major port pairs.

The members of the G6 Alliance are: Hapag-Lloyd, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL), Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL), Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK), APL and Hyundai Merchant Marine.

The G6 alliance confirmed that the market environment would be closely monitored and the CC2 service would resume accordingly.
